Ribbon Blender has multiple applications for powder blending in Pharmaceuticals, Food & beverages, Cosmetics, Chemical, Agrochemical, Plastic, and other powder processing industries. In well-designed and fabricated Ribbon Blenders, helical pattern ribbons move within close tolerance with a U-shaped trough, producing a balanced bidirectional movement of materials being blended. Available in small laboratory batch size 2.0 Kg to large production capacity of 10000 kg batch capacity. Higher capacity models are also available on demand.
Ribbon blenders consist of a U-shaped horizontal trough and a solid agitator shaft mounted with spokes that support outer and inner helical blades known as ribbons. Driven by a gear motor drive, the agitator rotates and produces a peripheral speed of up to about 300 fpm. Ribbons move ingredients radially — outer ribbons move ingredients toward the center of the blender, and inner ribbons move ingredients outward toward the blender wall. The difference in speed of the outer and inner ribbons moves the material laterally or axially (along the horizontal axis of the blender) in opposite directions. Radial and two-way axial mixing actions promote small-scale random motion (diffusion), large-scale random motion (convection), and particle-to-agitator, particle-to-wall, and particle-to-particle resulting shear.
